Rockets fans comment on a major trade

Houston Rockets fans are venting their feelings on a major trade announced Thursday before the deadline. According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Rockets took part in a three-way trade deal with the Los Angeles Clippers and Memphis Grizzlies.

Eric Gordon is now a Clipper, along with Danny Green. The Clippers also scored three second-round picks. Grizzlies received Luke Kennard. The Rockets received John Wall, who played for the team from 2020-22 before the Rockets bought out his contract.

It was widely speculated the Rockets would try to trade Gordon to a playoff contender before the deadline Thursday. (The Clippers are in 6th place in the Western Conference standings.) The question was whether the Rockets wanted picks or a veteran. The Rockets went for a five-time All-Star and 32-year-old former number-one overall pick to come back to Houston.

NBA and Rockets fans reacted to the news as soon as Wojnarowski’s report dropped. Most were shocked Wall is back in Houston, especially after the recent disparaging comments he made on a podcast recently blasting the Rockets organization.
